I survived my first week over 70 miles since last March. My hamstrings were pretty tight between Friday morning and last night, but other than that, no real hiccups. Those Icy/hot patches that Shaq advertises are the real deal – I put some on after yesterday afternoon’s run and they both felt great by this morning. Got some good stretching in as well last night.
Tuesday’s 5k intervals session was my first structured track workout in a couple months, so as expected, the splits were kind of erratic. Was targeting 81s, ended up averaging 80s. Would like to have been more consistent but I feel the effort was right.
I was too excited at the start of Friday’s M-pace run and ran the first 1/2mi at 6:00/mi pace before settling into a much better rhythm. Was much more consistent on this run, even during the last mile which included a nice 300m hill.
Today’s moderate run had chilly temps (28-30 degrees) and some nice rolling hills. Kept an even effort the whole way and felt very comfortable. Great way to cap off the week.
Hope everyone else had a great week.
