Yikes, I just looked at the weather in San Antonio; super warm for a marathon (71 in the early morning). Hopefully this won't be a big deal to someone from Arlington?
1:13:42 @ halfway in San Antonio. About 1:16 back from the leader.
So... 2:31 FTW, but no sub-2:30. does he show up tonight in Vegas?
Wardian has not been the same this year since returning from injury.
He's only broken 2:30 once this year - 2:27 at Marine Corps just a few weeks ago.
Can't believe this stunt got as much attention as it did, a simple look at his 2013 results showed it wasn't realistic.
2:31 and first place in San Antonio. Now on his Facebook it's saying that his goal is to win both marathons. (So much for the sub-2:30 races but it would be cool if he won Vegas.)
He just landed in Vegas.
How about two sub-2:32 marathons?

You never know.
A couple years ago a friend of mine ran CIM and Vegas on the same day. She did a 3:20 at CIM and a 5:00 at Vegas. Probably a lot harder than it seems, although Wardian seems like he's up for it....

That hurts just reading about it...
Result?
He's half way, on pace for 2:39. (At 10k he was on pace for 2:30; hope he doesn't fade too much now!)
Darn it, he just slipped to 6th place!
Update?

2:37 pace, but with those splits it won't end pretty. A 2:4x would be holding it together.
Good on him for trying though. Maybe next time.
Sorry, but being realistic wrote:

Did it really gain that much attention? Haven't heard anything other than this thread.

Color me surprised if he finishes under 3 hours.
...and the 20mi split is here. 7:39 pace. Ugh.

Yep.
