Anybody look at the results of the NCAA D2 West Regional? He ran in the high 33s…It sucks to see that because he was a beast while I was in HS and now I can almost beat him with my 10 mile tempo runs at 5:30 pace…What happened?!

And what of Geydon.

wtf....lol
GEDYON....AHAHAHAHA! My 14 year old son can run faster than that kid.
I hope these two guys get it going again. If Oshier can just get on track on the track for one season, he has the potential to be tremendous.
Question: How can these guys possibly regress so much without some underlying issue? It never seems to happen for the 16:30 5k guy or the 1:58 800 guy, how can it happen for a 4:02 guy? Do they stop caring? Mess something in their systems up?
Geydon was actually walking at one point in that race. It was sort of a ludicrous course...look at the times run by some decent runners.

Its possible to be very talented without having a true passion for running. Once you get to the collegiate level and you have to balance, prioritize and decide whats important, for many guys running takes a backseat whether it be to academics, partying, or both.

See Webb, Allan.

course was slow, but not necessarily ludicrous, though i only ran an 8k there. don't know what gedyon's doing now, and i, like others, would like to see both gedyon and oshier reclaim their former glory, but that time is slow by any course's standards, and any 4:02 guy's standards. just sayin'...
jantzen was injured this season.... debuted with 25:low 8k.. last year ran 30:xx in cross 10k. he's a great dude and one of the most talented runners i know. the fact that he has a thread with 30+ replies shows how great he is and all this hate is completely bogus. whats wrong with being religion major? maybe he's interested in religion? he could get his teaching credentials and become a teacher/coach with his already excellent running credentials. go jantzen!
Probably not fair to hate on Jantzen so much. He had a great freshman year in track at Humboldt and a couple of good races his sophomore year but it seems that he is losing his motivation. I saw him in the Spring 2014 at HSU Invite in the 1500 and he pulled out on the last lap. His coach was right beside me and he was pissed that Jantzen pulled out with 200 meters to go. I could see the coaches' point of view of quitting with 200 to go. I did see him after the meet with his teammates and he was pretty happy. They do have very limited D2 X-C scholarships at HSU (like maybe 1 or 2 a year) so if the coach is using them on someone like Jantzen, I could see the letdown.
