Let's runners, you may know me from that thread back when I asked for help with HADD training, or why I was running slower.
Here's a thread from back:

(My name was Help_me)
and my HADD training thread:

I'm happy to announce, I finally broke 17 in my district meet with a 16:49!!!
My splits:
5:02
5:36
5:30-5:40 something
last .1: idk (16:49)
(My 2 mile PR in track this year was 11:11. I was at 10:36 in this meet) Also, my mile PR is 4:57. (I think I could do 4:40s by now)
Last week Monday, we did 16x400 with 90s rest. My splits were averaging 76-77 with a couple of 75s/74s and one 72.
After 2 crappy races that week (19:35 County meet Wednesday...course was on sand and 18:52 on a hot Saturday. I was fatigued.) I had this breakthrough...
The weather was much cooler today down here in FL today too...
Weird thing is, why is it that I always PR whenever I start out really fast, yet if I go out slower, I can't hold on to the pace?
It's weird...
Example: When I broke 18 for 5K (3 months ago) my splits were:
5:21
5:54
5:55
17:55
When I PR, I go out almost at my mile PR pace, (feels easy though) and then slow down, but run my last 2 miles evenly. Is this a good strategy? Should I go out under 5 for regionals?
For anyone who's interested, here's my PR progression this XC season:
19:44
18:48
19:11 (Tuesday afternoon; felt crappy that day)
17:58 PR (The Thursday after that)
17:21 all time best
19:39 (county meet, bombed it big time)
18:52
16:49 New All-time PR
(course was certified. I ran 17:40 2 weeks ago in the pre-district)
(There were more races here I'm not going to mention)
summer I averaged 30-40 MPW, with a couple of 40+ weeks. In season we averaged 20-30 MPW.
Currently a senior, 2nd fastest varsity runner.
Oh, and I just want to say,
A HUGE thank you to every let's runner who helped me this summer (see the links above). Again, thank you all so much!
