I saw the thread on prediction for the CVS 5k and looked for one on 5th avenue but don't see one.
The 5th Avenue mile is tomorrow. Who you got?
On the men's side, I'm going with Nick Willis. He just ran real fast in Europe. Most of the other guys are past their prime or not that great.
Will Leer and Symmonds are my other choices. Does Manzano do well on the roads? If he can make it 3/4 of the way and be in contention at that point he could win.

Where is Wobb. With Chris Solinskew in the US road 5K championships I was hoping my favorite runner Alan Wobb would be running this. Go Wobb!!!!
-
Evan Jager looked really strong in Belgium, Im going with him.
-
I really hope Will Leer and his mustache leads it out through 800m only to get trounced and then quotes Prefontaine again in the post-race interview.
-
Symmonds has been killing everyone in Europe. What have the others been doing recently?
Lagat did beat Rupp in that 5k, but he's getting old and isn't as fast anymore.
Symmonds will win. -
Wow, what a good field. I agree on Willis FTW.
-
I assume this will be live streamed at NYRR?

He also has to whine about doing all the work. -
I will never count Lagat out in this thing. Until he actually gets crushed, I can see him being a contender, especially if it's fast. I still think Willis is the one to beat but if Lagat pulls it off again I will not be surprised one bit. Symmonds might be a good bet in a slow race.

Agreed on never counting out Lagat. Only Centro beat him last year.
I'm rooting for Symmonds to win and think he has a good shot. Lagat is my second choice and Lomong is my wildcard. -
I am going with Torrence for the win here. Coming off a 3:33, this guy is coming in hot.
-
Uceny and Heath
-
Simpson and Heath
-
That would kick ass if that happened, but Willis ran 3:32 in that same race so he still gets the edge.

Hard to pick against Nick Willis after the performance at Rieti.
I'm going with Morgan Uceny. She's obviously getting it back together again, and I think she has the biggest incentive, although Rowbury's up there in the incentive department after the USATF gaffe. -
great race.
the guys that do well are the guys that mostly peaked all wrong this summer. except that is for symmonds who peaked just right for the late summer. you just can't time it better.
THE A tesm. 1500 form.
you have nick who will surely run 333 334 but not 332.
you have willis who finally got it together late capable of 332.
lagat can go 332 333 for sure as it's come together for him late, though he was if fair shape all year.
the rolling stone has peaked pretty well and it on his A game is good for 333 right now not faster.
good leo-bad leo has been all bad leo recently. normally i'd take him for the win if he wss coming off only a bad race. old leo could run 332 345 333 342 in 4 races...
From the B squad a couple of guys are good for 334 even 333 high. one of them could crack the top 3.
OK I'm going to pick
1 Willis 350
2 Lagat 350
3 Nick 351
4 Yager 351 high -
Does anyone know the finalised field for Sunday?
-
Kuijken and Torrence because they're coming in hot.
-
Willis had time off with injury, no time to get into good shape for Moscow, but is now having a late season peak. Most of the others were peaking for Moscow (if not the trials) and are now on the downhill side of their peak and hoping to extend their season just a bit longer.
I'm going to say Willis too, but never rule out Lagat.
Not sure about the women.
