Nonsense. Racists love Israel.

It's very simple, they go anywhere where it's allowed. I don't think OP is a part of the LetsRun problem group you're talking about, but the group is here and says the things they do because most of their comments go untouched. That's not a judgement on how you handle the board. I like the fairly laissez-faire attitude of this place. It's just a simple fact that the sorts of things that are said here would result in deletion and ban most other places, not to mention running message boards. Like the phrase, "if you build it, they will come". If you allow it, they will come.

The entire internet is where people go to share their views, because the whole point of the internet is discussion.
Being on the internet as someone who is not just religious, but religious to the point where it comes across as crazy, can be a frightening thing because you quickly realize there is a large portion of the population who doesn't sit in a small building with you one day a week and is vocal about their opinion.
I'm sorry but when Ryan Hall says he believes in god's gold dust floating in his church and god is coaching him he opens himself to not just criticism, but also ridicule.
There are hundreds of professional runners who are religious, but do not cross the line of crazy, and they will never be ridiculed.
I'm most interested in seeing whether his Kenya training leads to a DNS or DNF.
Yes.

Post of the day.
Sorry to say you are only speaking of one area , traveling Africa and Ethiopia you see lots of kids running to school and other places , its the only form of mobility for them.
Some of you, including the OP, need to read the blog post before commenting. he doesn;t use the words "myth" or Mythology" at all. He also makes a joke regarding the walking and running to school issue. Get a life, guys. Hall is all right in my book. Hopefully he will get back to form and run healthy and fast again.

Ok, run your butt off in Kenya...but is it worth the hassle? Well, yes, in your case you've got no where else to be...so why not! One last thing, take a page out of Shaq's book and further your education...you really need it!
Further his education? Hall has a degree from Stanford.[/
Apparently a degree from Stanford, in Hall's case, regressed his view of the world and in himself. His outlook is to throw darts at a bullseye and never seem to hit a rationale thought. He's searching...but for what?
have you ever been to kenya? some of the issues you raise display your limited knowledge of the country and your ignorance. if malaria is your concern, what about 41M pple who live in Kenya? are you suggesting that they all evacuate? if its injuries, how about all the elite kenyan runners who live and train there? if its the money issue then you probably dont know that Iten is full of rich elite runners and nobody really cares to mug some "white" guy. finally Hall noted that the people are very pleasant more that what he expected, how did you interpret that as "this pple want my money?
I would ask Ryan, how many kids in the US walk to school? Its not just about running everywhere from an early age, its about being physically active and allowing your legs and lungs to develop for the training that will follow.
I don't think Ryan sounds crazy. I've never heard him sound like a nut in any interview I've read or watched.

I just don't understand why Hall flies thousands of miles with 24h travel and 6 connecting flights to train in a country where there are some serious risks, like malaria or the possibility of getting mugged (white over there pretty much means "look at me I got money"). Also, no good hospitals around there in case of injuries.
He could just live and train in CA at altitude and train with Meb, his neighbor.
Let me explain it for you.
1) There are fewer distractions in Kenya
2) It's something new. He's been at this game for a long time. I would think it would be motivating, exciting. It also would put the world in perspective.
3) Those things far outweigh your fears. You do realize that Mo Farah and Paula Radcliffe trained in the EXACT same location, right?

Exactly. Iten is among the safest places in Kenya. Security in Kenya is a problem in urban areas, especially after dark.
Malaria is a problem in the lowlands/coastal areas.
The only thing you're likely to get bothered on in Iten is some poor guy will shoes with holes in asking you if you can one day send him you second hand shoes in the mail.

That is an overstatement. Everyone gets so tied up around the idea that Hall prays to ask for help in his running. How many people here pray to ask for help with their family, their job, their friends or any of the other incredibly important things in their lives? I do. I value all of those far more than running. Is that worth criticizing?Hall can be quirky in his delivery, but he's honest in his judgment of the world. Say what you will about kids running to school or of massive, underground doping schemes, but here's what Ryan himself said of the Kenyan success:"The Kenyans work very hard. In my opinion, the biggest factor why the Kenyans are as dominant as they are is because they have thousands of elite level athletes training very hard in training groups."Not so crazy after all.
Let me think... is it worth judging you for begging a non-existent thing to help you, when you don't think it thought it worthwhile to protect so many millions of children from horrible deaths full of pain and panic? This so-called all-powerful and benevolent force?Yes - you are being judged for being illogical and possibly unhinged.
Can we refrain from commenting on race, faith and citizenship?
