Anyone here know about the running program at NC State? Is Raleigh a nice place? How's the weather compare to that of the Northeast? Are there good trails?

Solid program - always strong contender in ACC. Nice city. Weather is milder than the NE from Oct - March, summers are considerably warmer.
Raleigh is a nice town. Big enough for there to be stuff to do, but not so big that you deal with big city problems like high crime, heavy traffic, etc. Very friendly people, well-educated - what you would expect in a cross college town and state capital.
There are some good trails, mostly Umstead and Schenk Forest.
Weather is wonderful. Maybe a few snow days every year; there will be at least one day per month when you can run shirtless. Summers can be pretty brutal.
Rollie Geiger has been around for about 1000 years and knows his stuff; nice enough guy.
Does Jack Bacheler have anything to do with the program or is he focused on his insects?
Rawlee is a good ole place as long as you know David Thompson and Tom Burleson. Derum is close enough if you wanna stare at sum Jersey types. Lots a boys with flowers in their hair in Chapel Hill you heard bout cheating scandal over there right ?

I think he's referring to the citizens of the People's Republic of Chapel Hill's reputation for being a bunch of hippies, and to the recent woes of the football club.

The cheating "scandal" was quite overblown by the little wuffies down the road who are obsessed with us. Bless their little hearts, they and the town's rag tried to stir up something that wasn't there.
If you have a huge inferiority complex, then UNC-Raleigh is for you.
The run the sh1t out of a bunch of A- and B+ list recuits, and whoever survives it is probably good enough to contend for ACC champs and a spot at NCAAs.
My little flower child, no it wasn't overblown given the resignations on your campus. And NO you may not kiss me !!!

Overblown? What a joke? Not a NC State fan, but if anything the cheating scandal at UNC has been swept under the rug. Between the football scandal, the fake classes provided to UNC athletes, basketball players driving cars rented by the felon Fat Thomas, etc. Watching the NC State fans expose the UNC program - since UNC and their alums refuse to admit their cheating has been amusing.
I'll refer to the Martin report and all the other investigations that found basically NOTHING.As for Thomas, there were UNC-R and dook players involved with him too.Go back to your obsession.
Overblown? Not at all wrote:

CR, then why did Holden and others resign ?
Because the place reeked of corruption !!!!!!
NC State is literally the worst running program in the NCAA

Oh come on, they make NCAAs every year, have the fastest American collegian over 5000, and have had several NCAA champions over the years. They can't be THAT bad.
Well, you might say... wrote:

Is this true?

That's basically every program in the NCAA; just change the level of the recruits up or down depending on which one.

It's a Lydiard based program.
A bunch of speculation from a bunch of sore losers at Rawlee with no proof. Independent agencies like Martin, NCAA, and SACS found absolutely no evidence of any issues.
Now if we want to talk about cheating, it needs to start with your school and Valvano. Personal Fouls, anyone?
We have better athletics and better academics. Y'all will always be behind us in those areas. The sooner you realize this the better for you. I will hand it to you though. Your tractor driving and bass fishing teams are phenomenal.
