Fellow Hoosier here!
You went to Indy and Lafayette and wrote off the whole state? Sounds like a classic eastern business snob to me.
Try northwest Indiana along Lake Michigan, beautiful shoreline and some great beaches. Try southern Indiana with beautiful rolling hills and tons of opportunities to do outdoor activities like caving, hiking, mountain biking, etc
The running is great, and we are very laid back and like to relax in nature. Sure, people who love the city will not like Indiana, WE DO NOT WANT THE CITY. We prefer quiet and nature.
Hope you give it another chance one day and go to the exciting parts of the state instead of the stench of lafayette and the well.. I won't talk about Indy but it can be alright if you like going to bars I guess.
This is great. Tell northeasteners to come to Indiana to check out great beaches! No thanks, I'll stick to Cape Cod.
As for nature, I'll take the forest over farmland any day. Mountains over rolling hills any day. Your "beaches" and hiking are hundreds of miles apart. I can see the ocean from on top of Mount Washington, then head back to Boston or NYC and enjoy the nightlife.
It's great you like Indiana. And any place is really what you make of it. I agree that northeasterns can be very snobby and often over look other great parts of the country, including places in the midwest. But Indiana? Come on.
