According to Oswald's UK track bio, she was the 2009 Nike Indoor National Champion at 17:03 in high school.

Glad to see you agree. She was a 'solid' high school runner.
Are you sure Dunn's jump to Oklahoma didn't have something to do with Ann Detmer. She was a graduate assistant coach at Kentucky who he has been dating for awhile. Obviously she is not staying at Kentucky.
Dunn did an alright job there, but the top 2 distance runners at Kentucky (Orta and Luttrell) went downhill from the year before. At the same time, (Neal and Hildebrand), ran big bests at 1500m (3:44 and 3:41)
Dunn's move had a lot to do with Detmer.
She probably wanted to coach again or have responsibility of developing runners like she did at Cal. She tried to run in the elite circuit this year are sort of flopped...
She will probably be coaching alongside JD at Oklahoma.
great hire for OK
I heard he was making big money (100,000) at Kentucky. What would Oklahoma pay him?
Relax bro, $62,000 at Kentucky.
Whom would YOU prefer to work with: Jimmy V or Edrick Floreal?

Wow OK is a pit. Football maybe but a can only imagine how hard it would be to recruit kids from the East or West coasts to come to the flatlands.
Yeah, that's why Oklahoma State sucks so hard, right?
That's why OSU recruits foreigners, they find it hard to get the top Americans year after year.

He was making $80,000 at Kentucky.

His success and ability to coach/recruit is inflated because of where he was- how could you not get top American kids to come to Stanford/Virginia?
BTW, Peter Tegen recruited Chris Derrick to Stanford.

I'd say Stanford itself, and David Vidal to a lesser extent, recruited Derrick.
Of course, as mentioned, the school in itself recruits the kid, but Peter Tegen was the Head Coach, and a great coach at that. Dunn gets way too much credit for being a great coach/recruiter, when it's the schools/situations he was in that made it easier for him to get top American kids. Now he will get credit for Martin Smith's recruits, if they pan out. For the future, he will have a tougher time recruiting in the region when he's up against OSU and ISU, who will be devoting more scholarships to distance. Plus, kids are more inclined to go to Stanford for less money because, it's Stanford.
Chelsea Oswald (who you claim was a top 50 recruit at best and a 'solid' runner) was an elite high school runner, by any standard other than yours. She finished 14th as a senior in the Footlocker National Championships, in addition to winning the Nike Indoor 5000.
Umm, not really... wrote:

I suspect the 80,000 salary on the Kentucky.com salary database represents a recent pay raise and that his first year salary (2012-2013) at UK was close to 62,000.
