So I just graduated my senior year of HS.
In HS, I played football for 4 years and golf in the spring but this year I ran track as the coach recruited me for the indoor DMR team which got 3rd at state, I ran outdoors and made it to state in the open 800 and 4x4 . My best times were 1:55.2 and 49.9 relay split at state. I am still pretty new to running but really like it and want to see how much better I can get, especially at the 800 which I think is my best event.
The problem is now that I am done I have no coach and I didn't get recruited to run anywhere , and the college I am going to (decided on in January) does not have mens track. I only ran about 10 or 15 miles per week during the season including workouts, my training was mostly doing 200s and 300s workouts with some fast 2 or 3 mile tempo runs or 1-2-3-4 ladders.
I don't have a coach and nobody to run with so training on my own has not been good. Anybody know of ways to find a training group of able runners or a coach? Or open races/meets I can enter myself in when the season comes around again. I live in Indiana if this helps . General 800 training advice would be appreciated because I still am learning how to train for the event.
