Damn.... Was heart-breaking to watch the 5000m but sooo proud of Jordan, she went for it. That girl has been so consistent, she's the Chris Derrick of womens NCAA running.
She's looking mighty thin tho, no?
I would say the Chris Derrick comparison is incorrect.
She has 2 NCAA titles.
She has not consistently dropped her times and as it stands as much as Chris Derrick.
Here was the high school to college drop for Derrick:
4:14 mile/1600 to 3:59/3:41 Mile/1500m
13:55 5000m to 13:19 5000m
8:48 3200m to 7:46 3000m
and 27:30 10,000m
Hasay has done:
4:14 1500m to 4:10 1500m
17:05 5k (XC) to 15:37 5000m
9:52 3200m to 8:57 3000m
and 32:06 10,000m
And again Derrick's has been a steady drop while Hasay has been more drop then stagnate.
I would say their 3000m and 1500m times are the closest in terms of impressiveness by overall standards; however, they are both long distance runners. 13:19 is a lot better than 15:37 and though 32:06 is good, 27:30 is better. Derrick's 5000m and 10000m times were both 'A' standards at the time.
However, the biggest flaw in this argument is that Hasay has won titles and Derrick never did (but he's doing pretty well professionally, so he made out alright)
