I'll second the guy above me-look at this session "2x(500, 400, 300, 200, 100), 1x(400, 300, 200, 100) with equal distance jog between reps/3 minutes rest between sets in (1:12.5, 58, 42.5, 27.6, 13.5)(1:12.0, 57.8.0, 41.0, 26.0, 12.5)(54.9, 40.9, 25.8, 12.low)"
And this: "10x300 meters with 1:30 rest avg: 39.0" That is 3000m of work at 1:44.0 pace with short recovery-off that workout i could have seen him under 1:45.
He often did sprints after tempo's/workouts so he seems to have good raw speed and awesome strength. 1:44 could have been possible.
