I only run on roads, ive been running for a year now and run around 40mpw at the moment. Is it possible to run say over a 100mpw solely on road surfaces and if so how long would it take me to reach that stage?

I don't know but it would help if you said how fast you run those 40 miles. Mostly it's about how you feel at that mileage. If it's easy or if you're limping in the end of your runs.
