I have read a recent thread on the message boards about the personal achievements resulting from a high mileage schedule, but I think this is different.
I read this article by Owen Anderson and it has sparked some motivation in me to try a new system of training, that is 'crash training'. I would like to know what the high-mile advocates think about the 'crash' system described in this article, has anyone done anything similar, or any other seemingly insightful input. I'm also looking for suggestions as how one ought to approach a program like this. I realize ultimately that it is my body that will be the measuring rod of this type of training, but I have gained lots in the past from other people's experience.
In January I plan to start with some crash training. I currently arverage around 12 miles a day, single run per day on mostly hilly terrain, with a long run currently around 18-20.
