I have been running light mileage (30-50) since the 80's. I would like to run a marathon again so am looking to ramp up to 70-80 miles a week, (I plan on spending a couple of years to do it, I am pretty old). In the past I could get by with almost any show for 30-50 miles/week but when I got over 50 miles I needed good shoes. Alas this is still the case.
After experimenting with many shoes, the only one that kept me from getting injured was the internationalist. I am finding the same problems now.
I have tried several shoes but could not find one that matched the feel of the internationalist, (that is foot alignment, ankle stabilization, and knee stabilization).
Any suggestions for shoes equivalent to the old Nike Internationalist?
Of course I asked for recommendations in the shoe stores, but most of the people helping me were born after Nike discontinued the shoe.
