Not an easy place to get to or from.
There are no early morning flights from Des Moines that would get to Philadelphia for a 1:05 pm race on Saturday morning.
p.m. indicates afternoon.
Saturday morning references the flight time out of Des Moines.

WE're talking $25,000 for first. It may not be easy but it can be done.
Flying from des moines, she'd only get in at 1150 which is pucshing it. So drive to Chicago. It's less than 5 hours.

As the brother of an upper-mid-tier pro-runner, I can attest that $25k is a big amount of money for people in this sport. He makes $10k a year but because he's a penny pincher, has no tuition loans and is ok w/ living like a broke college student, he's getting by. $25k would probably cover his expenses for the next 5 years.

Hahaha, +1

Looks like the reduction in the triathlon purse was $500,000, so yes, it looks like a 1:1 relationship. Makes sense to me, the triathlon isn't televised, Drake is, the prize money is spread across more athletes, and they break into a new audience while still maintaining the former audience as the prize money in the triathlon is still fairly lucrative for an Olympic Distance Tri.
if 25k was awarded to the winner of each event, why was the winner of the men 5/10k won in 14:12 and 29:19 respectively??
i would expect some big time runners to come for a prize of 25k regardless of wether there is an appearance fee.
those were college divisions, look at the road 10k/half races, freaking fast
28 10k and 102 half winners damn africans
