"it was like a high school race"
"What's the point of coming out here if you're going to run 66s-67s?"
"It was just a solo workout from 3k on"
Along with a constant insinuation that the field was a bunch of women who wouldn't race and help him do any work.
Give this dude a filter and a lesson in sportsmanship!
But he's accurate? If you weren't expecting him to answer honestly, why would you ask him? You may not like his accuracy, and that is part of the reason that PC running is not fast running.

It is possible to be honest while not denigrating your fellow competitors.
I was in this race. The pace halted very suddenly and nobody wanted to do any work after that, so Will took off. Don't blame him I guess. Nothing I could do about it.
If you are shooting for some fast times, and you go into the race with other guys with the same PR's, work together! Sack up and go hard. Bigger risk, bigger reward.
In a more extreme measure, it is like the women in the Indoor USA Champs 1500m jogging, only to be beat out by a girl who is young enough to be their daughter.
there's the interview. leer's a little rude imo but i can understand if he's frustrated he had to somewhat solo a race where he wanted a fast time.
pretty funny fraser calls himself a bitch and drops an f-bomb, then leer tells him to watch his mouth

we've been wrongly predicting that for how many years now?
Way to go Will. Hope all is well and you can get to where we all know you should have always been. Great to see your name in lights. Get it done!!!!! IT IS TIME! :)

You tell me if it was accurate.
1. "It was like a high school race."
A: It was faster than a high school race. It was faster than most college races. It was guaranteed to be slower than the race he should have entered if he wanted someone to pace him to 13:15.
2. "What's the point of coming out here if you're going to run 66s-67s?"
There's no point for you. There are lots of good reasons for the others in the race (e.g., they don't think they could run better than 13:30 unless everything went perfectly, so they ran hoping that someone in better shape, like Will Leer, would set the pace).
3. "It was just a solo workout from 3k on."
If 13:21 is a workout for you, you've got nothing to worry about. But you probably should have made it a solo RACE, like Brenda Martinez did. Now she can focus on training hard instead of qualifying.
Have you noticed that David Torrence is pretty much in the same boat as Leer, always on the cusp of qualifying. But he always reflects and looks at himself and his training for answers. (e.g., "I'm devastated. I thought I was where I needed to be. I need to go back and reevaluate things . . ." ) He never blames others for his disappointments. And yet he's not boring, or wimpy, or anything else that the advocates of rudeness and grandstanding like to think defines winners.
