and after being the fastest american in carlsbad.

and after winning usa indoor mile and 3k.

Will Leer just said what people already would say off camera. Heard it a million times.

Will Leer is the man, gotten better and better and people still don't want to give him credit, he's a 13:10 guy in the right race.

Real question - what is Lowe doing pinching off a 14:02?

Why would he not run 5k at USA's?

Will Leer is awesome. He's hung through some rough times when many others would have quit and gotten a job.

Also, why would someone report a 13:20 when he clearly knew it was 13:21.55? That may sound nitpicky, but in a sport where fractions of a second matter at the WC level, it's not. Tsk tsk tsk, eddylee.

That said -- hell of a run.

13.21 solo for the last 4k is extremely impressive. Worth a 13.12-14 if being dragged along on a train

I heard somewhere that Leer is an Arthur Lydiard athlete? Did he change groups??! I thought he was trained with Lopez Lomong in Texas

Coached by Warhurst, but been on the west coast since the fall.

Leer will make the Olympic 5k team. Rupp, Lomong, Leer outkicks Lagat, who finally starts to lose his edge/feel his age.

I have to disagree with the Op's opinion alot.

Based on this thread, I watched the video of him being interviewed. Nothing like insulting high school runners, then insulted the field he just ran with, including the second place guy he was standing next to. Based on the video, this guy is bitter, seems like damaged goods.

I wouldn't say he was taking a shot at high schoolers

he said "the race went out super fast for the first two laps then put the breaks one, almost like a high school race" Most high schoolers with a brain know they race like that, no biggie.

He did give the 2nd place guy a bit of a jab "it turned out just a solo workout; nobody would help" meh the other guy didn't seem to mind but yea the comment could have been a little classier.
