Lelisa Desisa outkicked Gebre Gebremariam for the win. Before the final turn, Lelisa took the lead. Gebremariam tried to stay close and Kogo just dropped a little bit.
Then on the final straight Desisa had enough to pull away for the win. Kogo was able to comeback and pass Gebremariam.
Jason Hartmann 4th for 2nd straight year.
Hartmann quotes:
"Early on it was slow, but things definitely ratched up. I'm definitley just trying to run my race. Boston is a war of attrition. The race really begins at 21 miles when at the top of the hills."
"I'm just glad to be an American. The crowdd really supported me."
Hartmann said he had a blister starting 6 miles in.
