I like Jordan, but she would be a terrible mentor for Cain. Jordan is not in her league.

"If you want to challenge the Shanghai Rankings then you can attend the yearly conference and voice your challenge or you can email your challenge to them for juried review. Thus far, the University of Oregon has been un-ranked by Shanghai. If they are missing some information or need to correct their methodology then please provide such."

This kind of comment is exactly why I noted that some pretty stupid people post some pretty stupid things. The Shangai Rankings (CSWU) are focused on ranking research universities...not typical undergrad education schools. In their overview, Shanghai clearly states their purpose:
"CWCU endeavors to build databases of major research universities".
My point is made about the irrelevance of these rankings to a solid undergrad program, which Oregon does clearly provide. Nevermind the purpose of the CSWU rankings, Oregon is highly rated by CSWU for its research programs. In fact Oregon ranks above most American and International universities in this regard. Amongst the many fine schools ranked lower than Oregon are these: Brigham Young Univ., Univ of Indiana, Saint Louis Univ., Clemson, Washington State, Syracuse, Kansas State, Univ of S. Carolina, etc.
Oh, but Oregon does rank in the Shanghai rankings, and rather highly at that.
Shanghai doesn't rank the Ories. The Ories catalog and class schedule indicates it's mission is to serve primarily as a college for secondary education teachers.
You lying meth addict#84 Indiana#201-300 South Carolina and Washington State are lumped in the same as Oregon

I think it would be a mistake to NOT strike while the iron is hot.
Normal course of action is that "liars" call others "liars". You are correct in that aparently it is Indiana University - Purdue that is rated below Oregon (along with all the others that I cited). I'm not sure how this differs from the Indiana that I listed, but one thing for certain is that your response highlights your character (or shall we say lack of character).
Let's add Tulane, Wake Forest, Drexel....want more who are rated below Oregon? There are many more fine universities rated below Oregon in the Shanghai ratings. Fact is, Oregon is rated quite highly relative to US and International research Universities. Oregon is not a research University by primary focus, its primary focus is on strong undergraduate programs, and in that focus it rates very highly indeed.
Hey, "Step Up", you are a dufus aren't you? The Shanghai group only meets every other year. Maybe you should get into discussions with topics that you know something about.
OK, L' Chaim, I think you are not aware of any of the schools on the east coast. There are no Ivy League schools on the west coast. The east coast has the majority of the top undergraduate schools. I am going to provide the most recent top 25 list by the US News. Check out the top 20. Only two Cali schools in there, and more than your fair share of the east coast universities.
Jordan Hasey is smoking hot
only the shanghai list is made from an open public meeting of named experts. the rest are from magazines that sell print issues at ny subway stations.
My HS advisor had me apply for Cal, a long shot with 2/3rds Asian entering freshman class, because she pointed out that Cal/UCSF are now ranked #1 on the Shanghai 100 above Stanford, and UCSF used to be a part of Cal.

No. Over 100 years ago the State of Or set up OSU for research and UO as a Teacher's college.
Oregon is not a research University by primary focus, its primary focus is on strong undergraduate programs,
Please do not misguide preps who are on this forum.
There's no such thing as a 'strong undergraduate program' at UO.
