I know last year she applied to UCLA and Berkeley for grad school. Guess she's tired of living in a dead town with nothing to do but hang out at the Walmart Supercenter and laugh at the fatty customers. Westwood is the center of world media and entertainment. Berkeley is well, Berkeley. Hope she has fun.
Why in the hell are people claiming she has no talent and won't run professionally????
Are Kim Connely/ Julie Culley/ Amy Hastings/ Desi Davilla Lisa Uhl any more "talented" than her?? HELL NO!!! They are just running the events they SHOULD be running. Jordan has coaches who have forced her to double in almost every NCAA championship and let her screw around in the 1500. And Might I say she has been pretty successful all these years trying to compete in an event in which she shouldn't have been in the first place!
Jordan is a future 10k runner/marathoner!! Just wait till this spring...

The sad thing is that she went to Oregon, got no education, and now has to rely on an iffy sports career.
In general terms at the undergraduate level, Stanford isn't going to offer that huge of a pratical difference educationally. But it does offer huge advantages in networking, connections and prestige.
In specific terms, if you're a national elite college runner, what undergraduate school gives you the best advantages in networking, connections and prestige? Oregon! Think outside your box rather than letting arrogance overwhelm your future promise.
My guess is that Jordan will end up with the Nike Project. She has worked hard and built an awesome brand even if she hasn't yet shown she can compete at the highest levels. Brand sells, and there's other ways to get it without necessarily being the fastest.
UCSB is top 10 in R&D grants, two hours from LAX, and two hours from her Mommy and Daddy. What a beautiful place to be. Wish I went to grad school at UCSB.
Continue to run with pappas

I'd rather have both of them mix it up over my bed

hey, lay off i cqtm when i read that. (chuckled quietly to myself)
If she plans to continue in middle distance she should become a part of the newly formed Brooks program in Seattle with Katie Mackey and Jessica Tebo. If what some of you say about moving up to the 10k-Marathon then she should definitely hook up with Hansons. Davila was a Cali girl with not nearly the pedigree of Hasay and that has worked out pretty well.
Nike is a huge sports company that will provide many opportunities to work in Sport after your career is over.
Brooks is a running company that will also provide opportunities but only in running.

Interesting thread. Did anyone else notice Jordan talking to Alberto after the NCAA XC championships?
Lets put this to rest, Jordan is very intelligent. That being said, She is planning on working with Alberto upon graduation. This was not a big secret at NCAA Cross. Alberto was not exactly hiding from the question when people asked.
I have been following her running career since middle school. I think the highlight was the 2008 Olympic Trails where she ran 4:14 and the UO crowd embraced her. She had a great career at Oregon by most objective measures, but the expectations for her were Prefontain high and she did not come close to meeting them. She trained hard, had good coaching and excellent facilities and seemed to circumvent serious injury, so I think the past 5 years shows her talent level is unlikely to ever land her in an Olympic final. She might make a national team if everything goes right.
What to do next depends on how she sees her experience and results. My guess is she does not accept the results for what they show and will forge on for at least another 4-5 years pursuing her dreams. She'll probably stay in Eugene where the resources are maybe with the Nike Project. That scenario is not bad. She's capable of eventually running close to 15 flat, 31:30, and 2:28, which should earn her a good living. In 5 years she'll still be relatively young should she still want to become an MD.

If you stand too close it could result in a positive test. I hope that Jordan doesn't make the evil leap to the dark side.
