you never know - since there are no CC races this year, he might
want to experiment. Just like KB some years ago running 3:32.75.

Do you know how many people have EVER run sub-3:50 indoors?
Three. El Guerrouj, Coughlan, and Lagat AT THEIR PEAKS!
And people expect a 10000 guy who is 1-14 against one of those 3 guys to do this on the first race of the season?
SERIOUSLY??
People who have been saying this should be permanently banned from posting on the charge of general ignorance.
So, you want to permanently ban people on account of their ignorance, huh? OK, let's do this.
1) OP was blatantly, obviously, transparently trolling.
2) You fell for it, hook, line and sinker, thus displaying an astonishing level of ignorance.
3) Pretty sure even you can figure out the implications.
Thank you for NEVER posting on LRC again.

he is heavy training. just training through with 160 miles weeks. he will be running 3:50 when it counts. i.e. in July or August. More importantly ,with his speed he can go 26:35.
Only Moh Fara is better.
If you think he ran 160 miles last week, you are completely clued out.
I actually agree about the 26:35, though. Probably won't happen this year (although he may hit the equivalent 5k (12:49?) if things go right). But definitely in 2014 and likely 26:30 by 2016.
If Rupp missed his "goal" by 7-seconds for a short distance, that translates into a meg-miss at his 10k WR attempt.
Rupp will miss the 10k by more than one-minute. It is impossible to know by how much, because if he is far behind he will pull one of his famous DNFs.

This is not going to happen. EVER.
I just figured you should know in order to spare you the pain and agony of waiting for something that will NEVER happen.
Thank you for playing though.

I GUARANTEE that if Rupp faced El Guerrouj at any point (something he has never done) he would destroy him.
So not only has Rupp never beaten El G head-to-head, but El G has never beaten Rupp... Your "point" is invalid...

Rupp and El G have never beaten me! Your point is, well, POINTLESS.

LOL.
I am the least pro-Rupp people on this board, and I am still able to state that he can likely hit 26:35 in the next two years and 26:30 in the next four.
Let me use your rhetorical technique:
Uh...um...you're wrong...uh...um...thanks for playing though.
Got anything better to say, genius?

In 4-years Rupp will be 30. An old man by track standards, his best in the distant past; 2012.

Mo has 10 weeks left before the Sandmen drag him to the Carousel.
