Hi, I have a weird story about my senior year (this year) and I really need answers to this. I was pretty slow during my freshman and sophomore years for track (62~66 second 400's) but last year after my coach told me how to run a 400 properly, I was averaging at about 56~57 then on the last meet I ran a 53 4x400m split. After I ran that time, I committed all my training to run fast for track. But last fall during cross country season, my left foot started hurting. At first I thought it was a sprained ankle. But after running on it for the last cross country meet of my high school career, I couldn't walk properly and it was painful and this was back in October and I can walk now but I can't sprint. Then YESTERDAY I found out after taking an MRI that I might have had a stress fracture on the heel. The doctor said a stress fracture on the heel is rare so it might be something else, but there still was a chance it could be a stress fracture. So he said no running for a month. To me this sucks because I have been waiting for almost 8 months to start sprint training and I have been weight training 4 days a week since the summer and I thought it was time to start sprint training. SO my question is what should I do now to replace sprint training because I can't run? Swim? Ride a bike? Continue weight training? If so, how many reps, how long etc...
Thank you
