I have a two mile race tomorrow morning (indoors). Today, I was thinking about going to the track, warming up, doing some strides, and then maybe doing a hard 1600. Would these be a bad idea? If I do this will I be less fresh tomorrow?
I haven't been doing much track work, so I'm hoping that the 1600 would let me know about where I am so I will know what time to run around tomorrow. I also haven't done much distance work in my spikes, so this would be a good time to get a little more used to them before my race.
Also, please suggest something better to do today if you think this is a bad idea.
