lmao
I think you're trolling. Especially because you said you had to go to your uncle's house to put him in bed because he doesn't have legs. Wouldn't someone in that condition need round-the-clock care if they really can't get in and out of bed on their own? Troll. What if there's an emergency? He's dead.
Well you've definitely inspired me.
You are 100% right this is obviously fake. I have a home health aide who helps so my little nephew Ian is lying. I was just telling him no ones cares about his running so he came up with this troll.

I think you are just jealous.

I think I can do it. I'm going to start at midnight. Every hour on the hour, I'm going to head out the door for 2 miles. All slow easy pace. I'll end up with 48 miles if I do it right.
I don't know if I'll get any sleep or not but I'm going to try. I don't have anything important to do tomorrow so that won't be a problem.
I just read the first post, so I have no idea whether you did it or not or whether you were successful.
It just struck me as a bad idea to start at 12 midnight. Assuming you normally go to bad at that time, you will be starting a difficult task right at the time you should be most tired.
Not to mention that you will now have to stay up for 40 hours and run about 58 miles in that time frame, that just doesn't make sense.
I have done about twelve 12-24 hour races on the bike and they are grueling, but also difficult to stay up for the 24 hours. All of them started at 8 AM or 7 AM, even the 12 hour races.
Just saw this thread today and read the whole thing. Awesome thread, loved it.

well congrats however and I apologize if I missed a post pointing out the obvious................
WALKING 48 MILES IN 24 HOURS WOULD BE EASY
walk 24 miles in 8 hours with breaks
sleep for 8 hours
walk 24 miles in 8 hours with breaks
The challenge wasn't so much in the distance covered as in the way it was covered. What you prescribed would definitely have been easier and would not have equaled the OP's challenge. Midnight to midnight hourly runs with nearly no sleep was an admirable undertaking.
I think it's better to sleep early, start at 6am, and finish by 6pm.
It's possible to cover quite a few miles in this manner, and get plenty of rest and sustenance in between.
If I was going to do this again, I'd go for as many miles as possible in 12 hours.

That is called an ultra marathon and they are run on a regular basis.

OK, I just read the whole thread and realized that you ran 2 marathons on one day. You are going to have sore quads and calves for a while. Good Job though! I was worried that you were going to quit when it got tough around 12 hours in.
One question: When you said that people were getting up around your house, I assumed that you lived in a college house since your girlfriend was sleeping with you. Do your parents let your girlfriend live with you under their roof? You are only like 20 or 21 right?
I think Suzy Favor Hamilton should give Ian the 300 dollar special treatment for free.

No, it is not called an ultra marathon. If you run 27 miles in a week do you call that an ultra marathon. Geesh.
It's called running from 6am to 6pm, getting as many miles as possible, while resting, sleeping, and getting sustenance in between.

Yea she lives at my (dad's)house, with me, my dad, and my brother, and my dog shadow. And I'm 21. She's 20. I think..
We've been been together for a year and 4 months now. We both go to CSU which is just 1.2 miles from my house.
My dad is cool.

He had his legs amputated below the knees due to diabetes/gangrene. My half-brother(40 years old) lives with him, but he isn't there 24/7, so when he isn't my uncle calls me or my nephew to put/get him in/out of the bed. And get on/off the toilet. He also has another guy that he pays to do stuff around the house.
I love this thread. Keep 'em coming Ian. By the way, I was stationed at Fort Benning twice for Airborne school and another assignment while in the Army, so have run the streets of Columbus, and visited CSU a few times, so thanks for the memories.
once you go black you never go back????
Dude, you rocked this thing either trolling or actually running those 24 x 2 miles. I don't care either way, it is a job well done.
But you GF needs to get a car man.
