12oz. if you suffered metatarsal fracture it wasn't the shoe! on eastbay, if smaller foot -7.5 to 9- can get this shoe for $19.99! can't beat it. this shoe is just fine for running. not a rigid shoe at all. very flexible midfoot. in terms of stability/flex features probably mimics racing shoes, in other words, minimal support features. besides, they come in funky colors, orange even.
I disagree. I had changed to wearing the Saucony's about a month before I suffered the metatarsal stress fracture. I figured they were so comfy wearing around I might as well run in them. I read somewhere if you start having pain 3-4 weeks after changing to new shoes, the pain is most likely the result of your shoes. Also, someone mentioned if you're having stress fractures in your feet, it's most likely the result of your shoes, especially heavy, stiff soled shoes. Looking back, this seems like a likely explanation for my metatarsal stress fractures. Your feet jars against the ground and don't have the flexibility to properly distribute the stress. Moreover, with such a thick midsole, you can't sense where you step and make modifications in foot biomechanics. I agree that they have a minimalistic upper but not a minimalistic sole and midsole. Compared to the Puma H Street's I currently train in, the Classic Saucony Jazz's are like cushy bricks.
