I was in your shoes 2 years ago with similar times. My best advice is to call the coaches. As one post suggests, find out the coach for your distance and contact that specific coach (most likely an assistant). Also, video a couple of races and send them the link. This will give you an edge as the coach will be able to see your running style and build. I ended up at a Top Tier D1 school using this recruting technique -- and I even got a little money. Good luck. Remember that running at a D1 school is alot of work. The balance of athletics and 2 workouts a day is a heavy burden -- make sure the environment (school, coach, teammates, climate!) suits you.

So you want to run in college, eh? You're having trouble getting a coach's attention? Follow these steps to success. Tried and true.
Step 1: Email the coaches back from your other email account. Tell them you're a reporter with the local news paper and you've heard about the XC team's latest hazing antics. Tell him someone's come forward and told you about the streaking runs the upper classmen are making freshman do, butt-chugging rituals, weird after-practice shower games, etc. Tell him you'd just like to ask him a few questions, and you'd hate for the New York Times or some bigger newspaper to run wild with this story before you can spearhead the "rumors."
For a little extra punch in the message, be sure to make up some hazing terms. Say that you've heard they hold events called "the XC seesaw" and "the track taste test."
Yes! This is the creativity that earns you a spot on the roster, son! Another good one would be to say you've heard some athletes discussing something called a "fart lick" session that they'll all be participating in.
Someone above already mentioned this, but I will repeat.
Complete the recruiting questionnaire that is available on the team's website. That is what we, and almost all of our colleagues, use for input into our recruiting databases. Email or submit the questionnaire electronically so that the recruiting coordinator will receive it.
A week or so later, call the recruiting coordinator (usually the distance coach for events that you are running).
