That may be true but part of my point is that it is easier to dominate the 800 because it does not have the depth or caliber of athletes as the sprints.
Look at other events where an athlete has dominated for a long time - Edwin Moses, Carl Lewis in the lj. These are not events that consistently attract the most gifted athletes.
Also, Bolt races more frequently, especially since he runs 2 events, so there are more opportunities for him to lose.
