this was clearly a time trial. let's see how James does in a tactical championship race.

Food poisoning is not same as being hurt
ain't no tactics that will beat sub44 mofos! everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth! (or in this case, ran off the track!)

on the BBC coverage, he also said that james would need to overhaul his form if he wanted to break 44 sec barrier...

Just FYI Michael Johnson said himself that he thinks James could break his record.
First ever non-American to go sub-44.
Hard to belive this. He looked great man! Nice story too!
How do you use tactics in the 400? He's clearly the best in the world right now.
to bad we don't have more people like him! Great that he could Win the Gold!
he doesn't seem full of himself like many others! Wish him contunie success!
I hope he doesn't break Jermaine Jackson's record. It's his only one.

Imbeciles. It is Michael Jackson and he loves little boys that run the 400 meters. Michael would love to share his bed with the newcomer.
Was he wearing a 40-pound weight vest?

He clearly is a "sit-and-kick" 400m runner.

WTF!!!!
Big deal. Steve Lewis ran 43.87 to win in Seoul,1988, back when only three people had EVER broke 44.00. And he was 19.
Its just as effective as one.
The thing is, Wariner eased up to a really easy looking 44 low last year in the semi's and then didn't produce much faster against Merritt during the final.
James has a lot of Potential, but a 42 isn't something you just train hard and go out and do. The 400/800 are probably the hardest WRs to break.

He is on good pace to break it though, as long as he doesn't turn out like previous 400m runners like Steve Lewis and Obea Moore
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
