He sprinted. If you watch track, he does this in all of his heats. Or maybe every other runner on earth lets him pass in the final 50 meters...
He wins heats and loses finals, that is this guy's MO.
Kipruto looked good; Alcorn, about 8:37, started to fall off at 6:19 with two to go.
And Rojo, as I started earlier in the thread, Mutai looked like crap.
OK I just went back and watched it again. (We can rewind live streams on the BBC site. Does NBC do this?)
Anyways the French guy increases pace over the last barrier, far from a sprint though. At the same time Jager starts to ease down. Both are looking around them as they cross the line. There was no sprinting involved.
ethio guy breaks his leg...damn.. that looked painful.. he was injured earlier in the race and kept going.. and he hit the last barrier .. shin first.. looked like a basketball rejection.

kemboi?????? !!!!!!!!
Hopefully this first 1k is a true representation of Kemboi's current fitness level
Kimboi wayyyyyyyy back 3 minutes into heat 3.
Mekhissi said in his post-race interview that he was surprised by "the American" and will look out for him in the final. Weird, it seems he's just discovering Jager now.
Kemboi ran sideways on the last meters of his heat, going from 2nd to 8th lane and looking at the other runners. Weird.
I can't seem to find the link to watch the live track on NBCsports.com
Can someone help a non-brother out?
Kemboi is a crazy man
Wonder if Kemboi was intentionally dogging it
Morning session is done. Too late bro.
Cabral to the final! from the front, great run!
Great last hurdle by Cabral! 2 Americans in the final!
Cabral is advancing. 8:21 or so.
Kemboi on drugs!!! He started ten meters back, and wound up winning the heat by finishing in lane 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jager can medal. My worry that his heat was far and away the fastest. Cabral made it into the finals.
Alcorn out in heat 2. Cabral has a solid run, leading till the bell in heat 3 and makes it through in the top 4
