Break 36? Do you mean break 37, as in 36.xx?
There is no way they will break 36, as in 35.xx
And, your argument for MM on 2nd applies all the more-so to Gay, who is very likely a much better 100m curve runner than MM, and also very likely a much better 200m runner than MM.
With Gay on 2nd, where would you put MM?
With Gay on 3rd and Gatlin on 2nd, as in the Monaco relay, where would you put MM? Leadoff? No way, he is behind both Kimmons and Demps. Anchor? He was VERY FAR behind Bailey at the trials.
MM should have performed better at trials to really be in this discussion, IMHO. He got soundly beaten in a head-to-head by an injured Walter Dix.
Still, I think the relay question is tough.
