Ritz has two world medals and he finished third behind Bekele in that 12:56 race, so if he is in that kind of form (and at trials he was well ahead of where he was in 2009 at trials), he has a shot at medaling, but it would take a lot of things to happen. He will not do it by kicking, that much is clear, but if the field burns itself out with too hot a first 5k (something like what happened in the 5k when he ran 12:56, where the first 3k was fast and he stayed back), he could pick people off. My prediction has Farah and Rupp in with Bekele, however, and Rupp could easily be displaced by another Kenyan (is it Wilson Kiprop?) or Ethiopian.
