Last season I ran a 17:21 5k at state. Trained hard in the winter and ran 16:43 in March, then had a decent track season and ran 10:05 in the 3200m. I never did too much mileage in winter at around 40mpw, and in Spring I did <25 mpw (if that) on my coach's absurd training plan. This summer will be the first time I've done base building and I should hit 50-60 mpw by late July-early August.
So what I'm hoping is that I have room for big improvement since this will be my first time training the right way. I really have no idea what I should expect to run for the 5k this fall though. If you were me, what time would you be shooting for by November?
