Depends. Some college is probably better than none unless you failed all your classes or something like that. If you left college for reasons unrelated to grades (could be personal issues, family problems, money, a good job, just didn't like it), I would list it on the resume. I would think it would come up in an interview, so have a good answer as to why you didn't finish. If you don't have a good answer, don't put it on the resume.
Put it on. If you don't, there will be a big gap in your resume. You'll be worse off if it just looks like you checked out for two years and didn't do anything.
Guppy, suppose the answer is, I was working in a irish bar, playing rugby, drinking a lot and using drugs and figured I like this lifestyle more then college. Doesnt make sense now but it did then.
Definitely put it on with dates of attendance to show that you were doing something productive with your time (unless you had a full-time job concurrently and that's why you stopped taking classes). If you are applying for jobs that relate to the classes you took, you can indicate "XX units completed in computer science" or something like that. People take breaks from college all the time, and some college is better than no college. Having said that, finishing college is better than not finishing college, and you won't be competitive for jobs that require a degree. Be prepared to explain in an interview why you are taking a break and returning to work (finances, personal reasons, explore a career field before finishing a degree, etc.) You don't need to indicate this on the resume though. Also be prepared to explain what your plans are for returning. You don't want to say you only plan to stay at a job for a year and then leave the job to return to school (even if that is your intention).
