So this past cross country season I ran a pr of 17:29 at the regional meet. I'm a freshman by the way. I was a little disappointed because I had Only improved six seconds from eighth grade when I ran a pr of 17:35 at the same course on an open race. This cross season I ran mainly the 800 and 1600 and finished the season with PRs of 2:08 and 4:41 respectively. So I thought maybe I was more of a mid distance kind of guy. Then. Week after track ended I took four days off the. Ran twice and ran a five mile road race in 28:05 a 5:37 per mile pace. This is a 17:24 5k pace.
So what happened during cross? I do have a different coach for teak and xc. The xc coach does the Lydiard training system. The track coach just runs us through varying paces and distance intervals twice a week with one meet a week where Id run the 16 and 8
Any ideas
