I am 5'9" and have found that my best racing weight is around 140lbs. However, in my 2+ weeks of rest since my track season ended, I have gotten up to 147-148lbs. I'm not worried about this gain at all since I know it will come off fairly quickly once I start running 90 mile weeks this summer. However, I was thinking that it may be a good idea to purposely keep my weight close to 150 for a good amount of the summer. I figure it will not only ensure that I'm fueled to run high mileage, but also that it will act almost as "weight training." Like if I run/do workouts at 150 for the summer, when I start gradually losing the weight during the season, running at 140 will feel that much easier since my legs will be used to carrying an extra 10 lbs. Thoughts?
