Wisconsin is the defending XC Champ and all I see is one recruit from Illinois coming in. Do they have anyone else coming in? They have had a couple top recruits the last couple years but they are 800/1500 guys like Mudd and Hatz. Also, whats up with Mellon? was he injured? the kid ran 1:47 a couple years ago.
There is another thread on this subject floating around here somewhere. It does seem like just two recruits for them. A kid from Illinois who was around 20th at footlocker and ran 8:57, then one of the best from Wisconsin. Aparently they are also getting a D3 transfer from UW-Stout who ran 13:57 and was 5th in XC at D3 nationals.
My opinion is: with Ahmed, Darling, and Connor they are stacked for their top 3 guys, but will really need to have some guys step it up for the 4th and 5th spots.

Remember that Shields and Brice both have experience on being on the champs team last year. While neither is a top 40 finisher at NCAAs, both can push top 100 (Shields maybe even higher if he's healthy). Finnerty could be the X factor. He is having his best track season at Wisco and while he isn't a top long-distance type, he can be a very suitable 4-5 if need be. Alex Brill is having a pretty good spring, too.
If he graduates this month, he can run anywhere he wants in the fall since he has XC eligibility left.
