I hate to bash a kid, but I'm sorry, their story doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
First they claim they red-shirted the 2012 so they could hit the trials standard. But they also claim at that time they didn't know if they would be able to run the trials.
Why would you give up a year when you know the rule was that you couldn't run at the Trials? unless you knew the rule might changes or they always had the "Mexico" plan in their back pocket. (which I think is pretty clear they did).
Also, if you they made this their single focus as they claim, why wouldn't you be sure you knew What the freakin' rule change was? You'd they they'd be plugged into the process since it was their WHOLE REASON for re-shirting.
Instead, we are lead to believe they relied upon second hand information. Furthermore no one has since confirmed this story.
Once hey got the A standard, he realized he had his golden ticket to the Olympics so he just confirmed with Mexico and came up with this story. After all, he said it was his dream. Even now, he's sticking with Mexico.
With his times, he'd face a tough challenge to go to the Olympics for the U.S. So he took the easy route. (next time people want to bash Hall for taking the easy way out, remember Estrada)
I don't care if he runs for Mexico or not, but don't give some cockamamie story about how you relied upon bad information. Be honest about it.
