Whatever impact man has on the environment is completely insignificant to the natural warming trend. Man could go extinct tomorrow and it would still get warmer for the next 5,000-10,000 years. You get your head out of your ass.

Whats amazing here is that the srticle that was cited doesnt say what the original poster claimed in the title of the thread.

Only in America...

Only in America...
...land of the proudly ignorant.
The waste and pollution generated in the US is a drop in the bucket compared to what China produces. Besides, I like warmer climate, much nicer for the pocketbook and for training....
Why don't we all go back to living in the stone age, no plastic, no oil, no electronics. Live in caves, hunt and fish and hope some large animal doesn't decide to have us for lunch.

Case in point
no one honestly gives 2 sh*ts about pollution, most people who pretend to care just do so because it makes them look like they are "concerned" and that they "care about the environment." It is all about public appearance.
the earth is millions of years old, and goes through naturel warming and cooling periods. in the 1970s, people thought we were heading into an ice age.
people with small minds though often easily fall for such theories.
I do not believe in the global warming conspiracy theory, but I proudly say that the number of f*cks I give is very, very low, should it even happen to be true. a warmer planet would be better for us all. easier running, longer growing season (good for farmers), better for the homeless...just an easier life overall. All this shite about "in 25000 years...." is such complete and utter bullsh*t that it astonishes me that people actually are ignorant enough to listen. We've got weathermen who can't f*cking tell us if it will be rain or snow tomorrow, and you believe what they say will happen in tens of thousands of years? How foolish.
And another
And another
I have a solution, let's take all those plastic bottles and string them together to make artificial islands or floats so the polar bears can rest a bit and don't have to tread water so much
Wow, very convincing!!!
What other conspiracy theories do you believe in?
It's interesting that you all act like scientists...I doubt any of you have Ph.D.s in a scientific field, however.
Warmer temps are not better for farmers. Photosynthesis stops at a certain temperature that varies plant to plant. Look at the massive crop losses from the Russian wheat farms during the heat wave last year. The cost of wheat doubled in a single season because of it. If global warming were to continue, these heat waves would be more common, and we would have a food shortage real fast.

You've never travelled, have you?
It's always easy to spot the ignorant american who's never left his state.

I actually don't have a Ph.D. but am a scientist. I started working in a lab as an undergrad and kept working after. I received my Master's in Environmental Science and have been a research associate ever since.
I would also like to add to my previous post that if the Russian heat wave had been centered in the American midwest, we would not have been able to feed ourselves.
I have a PhD and I can tell you this. Having a PhD does not automatically qualify you as smart than everybody else.
PhD types often ream each other new ones: poking holes in claims, making counter-claims, ad nauseam.
"Having a PhD does not automatically qualify you as smart than everybody else."
Really?

You're right. I haven't been to any other countries besides Australia, South Africa, Brazil, France, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Jamaica, Canada, U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Ireland, Egypt, Israel, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia. There are many, many folks who have travelled far more widely.
So, now that you have repeatedly demonstrated your ignorance is there anything else that you would like to share? I know that ignorance is really something that you take great pride in but surely there must be something else.
