I'm planning on getting a pair of Saucony Progrid guide 4's and wanted to make sure that these stability shoes wouldn't harm my form or hurt my feet since I THINK I'm a neutral runner
Thanks

I tend to run on the outside of my foot, and I heard that stability shoes might not be good for my foot type
Maybe this is a silly question but why would you buy shoes that you think are bad for your foot type?
yes they are harmful and cause alot of issues...the first thing i usually see is i.t. band pain. MOST LIKELY if you have high arches you shouldnt be in them. If you have low arches or flat feet youll be ok. about 75% of people will be ok in a stability shoe. you should really go to a running store and get looked at though, its hard to guess from you saying you think youre neutral. if you are neutral yes they are harmful, yes i would stay away from them.
I honestly don't think there's any way to say for sure. The whole "stability/neutral" business is a questionable basis for choosing shoes. Here's a study-
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20576837
a summary of the study-

and a bunch of argument about what the study means-

It's a controversial subject, but I don't think it does any harm.
I've been running for 30 years and the only time I have ever had knee problems was when I ran in some stability shoes for about 6 months. I bought them by mistake. My knees started having a dull ache all the time and really hurt when I ran. When I stopped running in those shoes, my knee problems went away a few months later. I was in my late 20s at the time. I had been running for about 15 years prior without knee problems, and I've run 15 years since without knee problems. I'm certain it was that the shoes were limiting my motion too much and causing the knee pain.
As I recall, the culprit shoes were Asics "motion control" shoes. So maybe a mild stability shoe is no big deal. But I sugegst that you be careful. Too much stability may be hard on your knees.
thank you for all the replies,
I guess I should have been more clear. I think I'm neutral/put more pressure on the outside of my feet than the average person. ALSO, I've been having pain in the front middle of my foot, and the athletic trainer checked my foot and saw that my big toe is very inflexible, so I've been putting more pressure on the outside of my foot to compensate for the inflexibility of the big toe...so would wearing the Progrid Guide 4's (stability shoes) be bad for my natural form(landing slightly more on the outside of the foot)?

How many times are you going to ask this question? You've received several responses already. The take away seems to be: it depends on who you ask.
The suggestion of a GOOD running store is the way to go. You may be a good candidate for a neutral shoe with a firm insert (I.e. Super feet) to support the bone structure of your foot taking some of the pressure off of your toes without altering your overall biomechanics.
I bought one by mistake and it was a huge bomb. One run and it was just used as walking shoes. It was Brooks something that supposed to cost like $130 but I got it on sale at Amazon for $35. Never again. I am just stick to tried & true Nikes (Pegasus & Vomero).
