I think she was 11th at FL South - running something like 30 sec slower on the same course than she had earlier in the season. She's no Baxter or Cain, but I doubt they could run a 1:16 half..
I see nothing wrong with focusing on road races & half marathons.
NBON takes place at a stupid time of the year - mid June, when a lot of girls are past done with track and into their break before ramping up for XC. I don't blame her for skipping NBON, or any track meet. She'd have to have incredible range to bust out a 1:16 half & also be nationally competitive in the 1600/3200..
I don't know the Hadleys, but I'm well familiar with the constraints of public high school competition & the silliness of state high school athletic associations, so I don't blame them a bit for skipping out on all that..
