people can blame AK for its fickle/corruption tendency but think about the deal PreClassic is getting; how much money do they need to fork over for top kenyans if these races are mandatory for an Olympic berth?
makes you wonder how much of this idea was AK....
My apologies to Douglas Burke.
I must ask, what about Kenyan runners who want to try for a 5K/10K double? Aren't the races too close together in the Eugene meet? It does not make sense. Has anyone addressed this in the thread? If so, apologies.

Rupp seeming to be so emotionally fragile.
You're an idiot. Plain and simple.
Rupp is not emotionally fragile. You read too much bllspit on a message board.
I've seen him race, met him, he's a well balanced individual.
His coach is very protective, and one cannot argue with the results.
What there is, is a bunch of idiots on the internet. And that, has Nothing to do with Rupp.
My same thought, no double?
I still don't think this will happen. And if it does, it is another power grab from AK - they don't want to be put into the position of turning down a guy no one has heard of but just finished 3rd in a trials 10k.
The only way I would support this is if someone paid for 50 men and 50 women to go to Eugene. Otherwise, it is just a way to filter out the newbies.
If this happens, we ought to move our trials for the 10/5/1500/800 to the pre-classice also. We will find out what our athletes can do under high stress race conditions against the best in the world. It would be a great simulation of what happens in the olympics and our picks would be battle hardened for London.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
