Awesome. My knees started twitching just looking at it.
I immediately thought of the groundskeeping nightmares for a grass track.
"In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'."
"License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote."
What in the hell is going on in the last picture???
400 meter somersault. Its a South African high school event.

There is a grass track in Cape Town S. Africa I got to train on a few times. It's at some small high school. Perfect for training!
Most school tracks in south Africa are grass tracks but with generally good weather all year round they are much cheaper to maintain and are pretty good on the legs
I've seen tracks like that (but less nice) in regular schoolyards in England. It must be a fairly common thing there.
What could Rudisha run 440y in on that track?
Looking at that thing makes me even more impressed that Peter Snell ran 1:44 on a grass track.
