This guy is an idiot. A smart business person doesnt alienate his top sponsor. Nike will srop him like a bad habit the day his contract expires. Who else will want him? Where will be be able to get more $$?

He's selling his left shoulder. Any person that knows anything about track knows that the right side is the only one worth selling. The right side is the only one that will face the crowd and the cameras. I wouldn't pay 3 cents for the left side.
what about the rail cameras?
maybe thats whats next.

From previous comments it looks like he will have it covered during the meetings and the race anyway. He will remove the covering as soon as he can and mention the twitter name in any and all interviews that he does. I am assuming that during the race the tattoo will have to be covered. Left, right, it doesn't matter.
Who has the twitter name of "rudisha"?
Can't wait for the following to make a bid:
@adidasrunning
@asicsamerica
@brooksrunning
@saucony
Especially since Nick said he would mention the winning bidder in interviews.

Is this allowed? Or is he going to end up having to rub it off like Fleshman at NYC Marathon.
Is there an eBay auction on letting Laura rub it off? I got $5 starting bid.

You think Nike really even cares?

Did you even read the ebay posting? Obviously not.
People on this site really need to stop chiming in with idiotic posts that are addressed in link from the OP.
I think this is great. This will
-Make Nick $$
-Draw attention to the outdated rules
T&F is one of the most poorly marketed sports in the world. Additionally, the quality is not what it could be if there was more money, prestige, and interest in the sport.
Think of all the money in Baseball. You can be pretty bad and make huge money. Some day all of us D3 1:54 guys will be millionaires.
No I dont think they care at all what he has to say, but they do care about representing their brand. They dont care about someone like him enough to keep him, so they wont.

Completely, agree with 400turtles.
I'm waiting to hear him bash the IAAF in all the interviews when he takes the tape off.
Nick needs to do some research and let the bidders know that the USOC and IOC will own him during the trials and for weeks before and after the Olympic Games. He may end up getting sued by the winning bidder!
Anyone want to guess what the final price will be?
Since this auction is only going to get more and more attention, I'm going to say that the winning bid will be exactly $18,972.
He mentions that 4.X billion people watch the Olympics, but if he makes it won't his tattoo have to be covered the whole time?
good for you nick. tell the iaaf and usatf to go fck themselves. if a track athlete wants to race in a fcking nascar race suit with emblems all over it and drink a coke or pepsi or vodka straight from the bottle or can during the race they should absolutely be allowed to do so.
What if you win and the night before the big race he gets into one of his tanning booths ,and POOF ???
Currently at $1875. 8 days, 21 hours to go. I'm tempted to throw in a bid just to bump the action...

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
