Is her half-marathon PR even at WR marathon pace?

Vivian can run 2:18:20 but not 2:15:25 because it's fake. The course must be 500 meters short.

Triathlon : Swim .9 mile, Bike 24.9 Miles, Run 6.2 Miles
How can I ever do a bike or triathlon race. Why can it be 10 miles. 24.9 miles is like a marathon. I'm not physically capable of riding my bike over 13.1 miles. I'm like where's the freaking finish line.
I prefer to run 10km like Vivian Cheruiyot. Running 13.1 miles is not easy. I go crazy when I'm running the half marathon. I screamed and shout loudly and people are staring at mecause I'm so tired and struggling with the distance.
No more marathons till London Olympics. If she wanted to break the world record then she would've run a 4th marathon of her career.
Sure she can, if she takes drugs and has male pacers like Paula did, no problem whatsoever! Paula was on nandrolone for certain! She and her supplier have blocked this from their memories and she was never tested shortly after the race, so it can't be proven but her quantum leap in performance cannot be explained any other way!

Kevin, why don't you try a sprint triathlon?
Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Run 5km.
Or better yet, find a sprint duathlon - 5k Run, 20k Bike, 5k Run, or some that are just 20k Bike and 5k Run. No swim so you won't drown.
Kevin how on earth is 2:15:25 "fake?"
I would love to know.
NO, IMPOSSIBLE. Sub 2:20 is as close as any women is ever going to get to the record. Saying Kim Smith has even a remote chance at getting it is like saying Kara Goucher isn't overhyped at all and Ryan Hall doesn't love Jesus.
Wait, is this board a joke of some sort?
The speed goggles are understandable (the results of a search for kim smith!:)

14:39/30:35/1:07:11 indicate a possible sub 2:20.
I don't know about Smith, but if Takahashi can run 2:19, then Radcliffe can definitely run 2:15 and a bunch of others will too as soon as they start training for the marathon like its a marathon and not some extended HM.

Yes, it is.
But I agree that she is light years away from getting the record.
Only if she doesn't puss out like she did in Boston.

how the mighty have fallen new zealand national record for over 40 is 2:11 and for over 50 is 2:20, a country that once produced rod dixon, dick quax, kenin ryan, peter snell etc.
Like many countries, there are more options for young men than in the old days, but there are still kiwi guys running to Olympic and other championship medals (other than Willis of course), it's just that some of them went for a swim and rode a bike before the run... e.g. 2004 and 2008 Olympic triathlon.

now only has kim smith and nick willis as elite runners
Nikki Hamblin would also count as elite with 1:59, 4:04 and two commonwealth games silver medals from the Delhi 800 and 1500m. Hopefully some more will reach that level soon.
I could ride up to 30km 18.6 miles cause it feels easier than running. I go at a higher rate in cycling of speed than running with less effort. I like cycling but the distance is tougher than running. Family Fun Ride - 4 Miles
The Family Fun Ride is a perfect morning ride for kids and families and youth groups of all ages. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other organized groups can use the ride to complete requirements for cycling badges too!
Tour of Long Beach & Metric Century Ride - 31 Miles & 62 Miles
Why people say marathon is hard? Cycling is further than marathon.

so you are saying a 27 mile bike ride is tougher than a marathon?

But Kevin, how can you say it's not easy and that you are struggling with the distance, when you claim to have run a 1:11 half marathon?

Vivian Cheruiyot never made her half marathon debut and didn't run 15k 10 miles. Vivian should make her half marathon debut by 2011 but she didn't do it. She's focusing on shorter distance. Why is she running Bozen 5k instead of San Silvestre Madrid considering she's a 10000 meters runner.
Watching video of her running Boston was one of the most painful things I've seen. I'm glad it ended when it did; it had already gone on too long. I don't see her having success at the marathon until she learns to relax her effort and find a less-stressful form.
