So do you idiots think Bernard Lagat is 10 years older than is listed. Yea.. because a 47 year old would be running 1254..

Isaiah dominated in his recent cross country race and he is officially 18. He looks like he's 30, but either way he'll beat Lagat in 2012 at London. That much is seems certain.

I am sorry if you promote the KKK, but I don't believe it belongs on this website, so please take your hatred somewhere else.
Yeah yeah the usual white people crap because Kenyans are winning too much now you have to start a fake story to bring them down. Lay down the evidence here, or this story is crap. You can go to Hawaii or Eldoret to look for the cert if you wish.
Also even if he lied does that make all the Kenyans cheaters. My parents are in their 60s and the both have birth certificates.
Thers no way anyone under 40 didn't have a chance to get a cert, if they didnt its probably because their parents didnt make the effort.
Kenyans are the best marathoners in the world period!!!!

You are truly stupid. Isaiah Koech looks like he's 30. That is all. You have an awful inferiority complex. Kenyans are the best marathoners. No doubt about that.
Dude, come on. Either you had some reason for your comment about this guy looking old (and I agree, he does look old), in which case you'd better suck it up and take your licks like everyone else who says something controversial (and that's fine), or you are just making inane statements for no reason. In which case YOU are the one acting like an idiot. If you weren't trying to provoke a discussion, why write anything at all?

You too have issues. I suppose Flags had some reason for starting a thread about how old Piers Morgan looks. That is up to him. I think Isaiah Koech looks to be 30 and he is listed as having turned 18 this week. Yes, I find it to be curious. This has NOTHING to do with disparaging the talents of the Kenyans in relation to running, but yeah, I started this thread to point out that their 18 year old superstar is not 18. Sure. He's not. He's still a great runner, but he is an 18 year old who looks to be much older. This does not mean I am jealous of Kenyan runners and trying to denigrate them. Stupid people cannot recognize that these are two separate issues.
This is so true. They are just very tough. he would be a beast masters runner. There are to many guys that are too good for all of them to be old.
Do any of you who choose to believe this athlete (or any other purportedly junior-age athlete running this fast) is actually 18 years old think he's going to improve at anywhere near the average rate, including for those juniors who have gone on to become world class? Do you actually believe this athlete is going to be running 12:15-20 in the next 4-5 years?
My only beef with the constant reporting of the improbably young ages of these athletes is the implication that they're going to get much better. If history has shown that they are highly unlikely to improve at the typical rate (regardless of whether their ages are being reported accurately or not), why all the excitement about their ages, and why the all the bashing of non-African juniors who aren't running as fast? Except for the issue of overage runners taking championship medals from legitimate youths or juniors (unfortunate, but at the same time hardly a reason to get up in arms; this is just age-group stuff anyway), I don't give a shit how old guys like Koech actually are. Fast is fast, period.

EXACTLY. So these letsrunners complain that our juniors arent winning medals because the ones winning medals arent actually juniors.. well there is no excuse why we cant win medals as seniors..
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
