I am looking at the kinvara 2 and nike lunaracer+ for shorter, faster workouts. Which one do you guys like better? Also suggestions for other shoes are welcome.

I have both and I don't recommend the Nike LR for fast workouts. Hill repeats or Intervals. I think they are too soft.
I prefer the NB 1400. It is supposed to have a higher heel:toe ratio (10mm compared to the LR's supposed 6mm which I don't feel at all.), but it has a firmer midsole which I like. Down side, the NB 1400 is a bit long for me so the arch creeps into the ball of my foot behind my big toe. It caused blisters when I first broke it in. Same with LR. After a few runs and the blisters healed they are pretty good.
I like the Kinvara 2s for anything. Long, fartlek, tempo, progression, and speed. The Kinvara fits my foot perfectly and I like the firmness of the midsole.
So, I use different shoes, but I am pretty well sold on the Kinvara 2 as my perfect overall shoe.
i have both.
Kinvara for everyday training.
LR+ for tempos/faster stuff on the roads.
i'm still looking for a flat that's as amazing as the old nike streak vapor IV's for track workouts. love that shoe.

I have the asics skyspeeds and NB 1400 - I am seriously loving the 1400s - one of the best shoes I've ever run in. Feels just the right amount of cushion and it it very light.
Fit is perfect for me, but that is a personal variable
I don't like the skyspeeds - clunky and stiff.
NB has been killing it with their newer shoes, I seriously consider them ahead of Asics and Adidas as the best quality trainers. Perhaps still not there with flats/spikes, but not only are all the trainers great feeling, but they are insanely durable. I have a pair of MR890s that look brand new after 800+ miles.

I would agree with this. At times I use other shoes for track work or speed stuff, but overall I'm pretty sold on the Kinvara. The LR+ just didn't feel good on my foot. I wore em for a few workouts and then ended up getting rid of them.
Here's a link discussing this some more:
Since no one's mentioned these: Brooks Racer ST. Lightweight w/medial post (which I need). I train in these daily (60-70 mpw); race in them, too. Awesome shoes.
