Hi there, I have a bit of a problem and would love some help. Thanks in advance everyone.
I currently run in Ravenna 2's and they are brilliant but I cant find a racing or trail shoe (Brooks or other brand) that comes close in terms of forefoot support. I have been suffering with a medial knee problem for some time which seems to be caused by my right knee tracking inwards as I run. I've had a gait analysis and 3D foot scan which both say I'm pretty much neutral (very slight pronation on the right leg) but my forefoot stability is terrible. Not great when you're a natural forefoot/midfoot runner!
The specialist running store I go to suggested the Ravenna or the Defyance (haven't tried the Defyance yet) for road running. No problem with the Ravenna but I do a lot of trail running and off road ultras so I'd like a trail or road/trail hybrid that works like the Ravenna ... I'd also like a lightweight racing shoe with similar dynamics.
So my question is ... what is it about the Ravenna that provides such good forefoot stability, and what other shoes have this feature? All other shoes I've tried (Brooks ST5; Salomon Speedcross 3 and Crossmax; Brooks Cascadia; Inov8 Terrafly 313) just don't cut it. All help very much appreciated!
