Are grad rates going to vary that much? Longevity of coaching staff? I have seen a bunch of awful coaches who have been there forever. Who cares about facilities, we're runners. We need a shower and a locker.

When Wisconsin was winning three NCAA titles in the 1980's they shared the old locker room with the wrestlers. Facilities? What does that matter?
It's running. Simple sport. Got to have the talent and if you have tradition no one thinks about their locker room, or gear. The harder the better.
Wisconsin gets great recruits but the ones they get and stay there don't worry about that stuff. They thrive on doing daily morning runs from December to Febuary in mainly sub 20 degrees temps. And it sucks. Same thing with the Oregon teams that run all spring in 40 degrees and rain. I'd rather train in a sunny Madison January day of 5 degrees.
Amenities don't help in this sport.
