ever drug dealer makes 1000 wads, how do you think they keep track?

It's def retail money. Drug dealers wouldn't make $1000 wads. It's not that much. When making deposits retailers wrap bills in packs of 50. I would ask any retail store close by if they lost part of a deposit. Otherwise its yours. Invest half blow the other half HAHAH

if you don't take it back you're gonna have Chigur coming after ya.
There is probably a transmitter in the stack.
Chigur is coming for you.
You have no chance.
It's not like he's laundering thousands upon thousands of dollars. Also it's in cash so very hard to trace. Just spend it nice and slow if you have no way of figuring out who it belongs to.
UPDATE!!!!
I found a craigslist post this morning that is almost surely describing the lost money.
"I was on my way to deposit money for my rent and i somehow dropped my purse that i was carrying it in. there was $1,000 in it. If you found my money, PLEASE, do the right thing and return it. It is all the money I had and not getting it in the bank is going to start a whole domino affect of debt that I may not be able to recover from. I am willing to give a reward. Please do the right thing, I am sick over this. you can contact me via text" [then they mention where they lost it, about four blocks from where I found it]
So, I guess that is that. Going to call them during my lunch break. I gotta say, their story sounds fishy: depositing money in the bank for rent? My rent goes to my landlord directly, doesn't everyones? And where was their purse? Are they saying they dropped the purse, picked it up, and didn't notice the cash that fell out?
I guess it doesn't really matter. This person, idiot or not, has laid claim to the lost goods. I will be returning it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PICKING THIS UP! I lost it earlier, at the same place around the same time! Message me and I will give you my address. Keep $20 for yourself for the good deed/postage and mail the rest back to me. Thanks again!
'I guess it doesn't really matter. This person, idiot or not, has laid claim to the lost goods. I will be returning it.'
That would make 2 idiots
Although this story BS

Who will appreciate the money more, you, or the retail store?
Yes, all retail stores are killing it in this economy. They won't even miss the $1,000.
I use to deposit money for my rent. My landlord had a business checking account for the apartments he rented and we just made a deposit at the beginning of the month. He lived out of town.
Did she provide pics?
Or a person reading your post on this message board spammed Craig's List. Negotiate a reward (minimum 10%) before returning the money.

HEY! I've been wondering where you went!
20 dollar bills = drug money
The reward and the fact it is a woman making the posting is sketchy. If you are going to be dumb enough to return it, figure out a way to do it safely, from a distance. Don't meet anyone, even in public, and don't give them your phone number. It sounds like a setup to me.

What's sketchy about it? She provided information that only the person who lost the money could possibly know.
I'm glad that there are still people like CashMoneyGo out there.
One word for CashMoneyGo: DO NOT ACCEPT a reward, even if she insists. Just say, "Ma'am, if I accept money from you it's going to ruin my mojo. You don't want to be responsible for ruining my mojo do you?" Accepting money for doing the right thing will invalidate all of the good Karma coming your way.
I agree that sounds fishy. Email them back agreeing to meet in a very public place, don't use your real email.

Tell them that you reported the found money to the police and you'd like to return it to them inside the police building. They'll only show if they're legit.
If you turn it over to the police, and nobody claims it in X number of days it becomes yours. This is the right thing to do.
Update!!!
Just finally connected with the lady over the phone (after a round of phone tag). The story checks out, it sounds like she dropped the stack of bills while walking from her apartment to her bank, which matches up with my standard running route out of my office. The timing was dead on as well.
She is swinging by office this afternoon to pick up the dough.
As for accepting a reward... I think I might do it. Doing right is a pretty good reward, as is the associated karma. But I wouldn't turn down $50 if they offer.
